At Mayo Homes, we take the time and perform the steps necessary to make sure each home is installed properly so you will be happy in your new home for years to come. Learn more about how we install each and every manufactured home below.
Site Preparation
– We ensure that the land around your home is properly graded and free of depressions to provide safe and effective ground water runoff. We will also install a durable vapor barrier to further protect your home from water damage.
Support
– A home that is not properly supported may have bowed walls and floors, cracked ceilings and walls, improperly hung or inoperable windows and doors, and other structural defects. These defects can permanently damage your home, and because of this, we ensure that every home has the proper support. Your home will be installed on soil that has the proper conditions and bearing capacity to properly support it. All the pier footings will be protected from frost heave.
Assembly – We carefully follow Skyline’s instructions and recommendations during assembly to make sure your home is comfortable and secure against the weather – from sun and wind to rain and snow. We also make sure each of your home’s vital systems, like the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, are installed properly and according to Skyline’s recommendations.
Stabilization/Anchoring
– A powerful enough windstorm can cause a home to overturn. To ensure this doesn’t happen to your home, we use the proper anchoring devices to stabilize and anchor your home firmly in the ground.
Installation shortcuts to save money
– Taking so-called shortcuts for “savings” usually results in you, the homeowner, having to pay more money over time. It’s true that Skyline might have multiple methods approved to install your home. We know these methods, and we choose the one we think is best fit for the home and the land it will sit on. If we think another way will work better for your investment, we’ll seek Skyline’s approval before we try it.
It’s vital that a manufactured home be properly installed. If it’s not, the home will not be safe, durable, and able to satisfy you for the long term. We invite you to call Mayo Homes with any questions or concerns you have about the materials, construction process, or available floor plans.
